DB To the Bathhouse
To the Bathhouse

On the back of the postcard: "These are innumerable instances of things which attach themselves to something else, then waste and destroy it.. This may or may not be one of those times"

I adore this piece. The photo is scratched and colored and a piece of tissue paper overlay displays tiny swimmers in this massive bathtub. Fantastic. (NFS, Museum Collection)

DB Dragon

"Only when the dragon reaches the summit
does it know the chagrin of descent"

Computer drawn illustration mixed with color pencil. A Dragon in a tub spitting fire unto a tub on TV. What is David saying here? (NFS, Museum Collection)

David is usually the supporter of arts (he's married to a very talented artist, Migyoung Won-Bloomer), but when I invited him to create an original bathtub postcard for the opening museum exhibit in Portland, David sent me a couple gems! David is a world traveller and perhaps I'm just projecting, but his pieces seem to be more than a pretty picture, and touch on the topic of social change. David & Migyoung are moving to Nepal early next year.
