Tub Artist
Daniel P. Cleary
Long Island, New York Mary of the Half Shell. Photograph (Cover of Halfway Decent Sinners 2006) "Bathtub Virgin" Poem by Micheal Cleary published by CustomWords .
The story behind this photograph is worthy a mention. Daniel who lives in New York was hired by his brother Michael (a poet) in Florida to photograph a "bathtub virgin" or "Mary of the half shell." Daniel was having no luck finding one in NYC so Michael flew Daniel & his wife down to create the shot. An old clawfoot tub was rented and a chalkwave virgin mary bought and the image was shot in Michael's backyard in the hot Florida summer sun. Daniel's wife helped out styling the shoot and holding the photo reflector. And all the hard work is worth it since the poet was happy with the photo for his new poetry book.
