The pink doll tub used in this piece is just like another miniature pink tub I have.. in fact there is a great story. When Cathy moved into North Portland last year, I told her about a secret thrift store. Being the collector she is, she started going regularly, and on one visit saw a pink doll tub, but the price was a bit high, so she didn't buy it for me. Soon after the store was half off, and I ran right down there to get the tub, but it wasn't there. So I asked the sales ladies if someone bought it, or if it had moved. Off we went in search of the tub, and when we turned the corner, the saleslady gave me a look of horror, she said, oh no someone else is holding it. I turned the corner, and it was Cathy! She had picked the tub up for me. We had a good laugh.
Cathy Pitters has a lot of titles in my book, one being the Queen of Craft. Give her a gluegun and magic happens. Her Hot Pink-walled Studio is filled with so many amazing finds that "find" their way into miniature shrines and other art works. Her precision and sense of design is exquisite! |
