The Beginning

I'm here to answer why bathtubs, because everyone wants to know. Well simply it began with a zine (self-published photocopied magazine) called The Bizzare that my friend Erin Howk and I made when I was in my last year of high school and first year of college (1993-1994). Each issue of the Bizzare covered a different topic with stories, pictures, facts, poems, etc. The first one was bananas..then dandelions, and socks, and finally came issue number four, bathtubs. Relooking at it, I am credited with the idea for the subject of the zine, but honestly I don't rememember why I chose bathtubs. But I must say it turned out to be the best issue. While researching for the zine, I picked up a postcard of a cat in a bathtub. The original postcard is in Erin's collection, but here is a copy of the 1st Bathtub Postcard that started this collection. Then I found a few more bathtub postcards..one of a dutch boy in a wooden tub and then Betty Boop. And as I always say, once you have three of one thing..you have a collection. So it began..and 10 years later, I am opening a museum. Read more:
